Job summary

Lakeportpa in Creswell, Oregon is seeking a part-time Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff Occupational Therapist with resident care and therapy activities. You will ensure treatment plans are followed and documentation is accurate.

You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, participate in care conferences, and educate residents and families on treatment goals, exercises, and safety strategies while maintaining confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited COTA program.
• Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios to practical situations.
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state.
• CPR certification, if required by licensure.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and third-party payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and/or Rehabilitation meetings, as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, maintenance programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention strategies.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising OT to update physicians, nursing staff, and families regarding progress, goals, discharge planning.
• Contribute to quality assurance and facility rehabilitation program development.
