Job summary

Correctional Healthcare Partners (CHP Health) is seeking a Medical Director for Whatcom County Jail on a part-time, 1099 contractor basis. The role requires oversight of medical, mental health, and dental services to inmates in a correctional setting, with accountability to Health Services Administrator and CMD/CMO.

Must hold a physician license in the employment state, DEA registration, and ABMS board certification where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current unrestricted license as a physician in the state of employment.
• Current DEA registration and ability to obtain a DEA X number.
• Board certification recognized by the ABMS; CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of primary care experience; corrections/managed care admin preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, manage medical services to meet contractual obligations and client expectations.
• Ensure all medical services comply with NCCHC, ACA, and professional standards; has final clinical authority at the facility.
