Dismas Charities, Inc. is seeking an entry-level, part-time kitchen assistant to support meal preparation, inventory management, and food service operations. You will help maintain kitchen safety standards, follow dietitian-approved menus, and coordinate with the Director on external inspections.

The role requires at least two years in food service with administrative duties, and a valid driver’s license. Part-time schedule includes weekends and morning shifts.

Qualifikationen

• Two years of paid food service experience with at least one year handling administrative duties such as food ordering, budgeting, inspection planning and compliance, and equipment operation/repair.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write reports.
• Ability to perform basic math: proportions, percentages, and unit conversions.
• Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving; valid driver’s license without restrictions.
• Must possess and maintain Food Handler's Card and comply with local/state Food Service Codes; Annual Physical Exam.

Aufgaben

• Meal preparation following approved menus by a licensed dietitian.
• Plan meals per dietitian-approved menus and post substitutions.
• Manage inventory and order food and equipment to ensure timely meals.
• Maintain sanitary and safety standards for kitchen and serving areas.
• Keep required written records of the food service operation.
• Understand and follow procedures in the Life Safety, Facility Sanitation, and related manuals.
• Work schedule adherence; cover hours to staff the center as needed.
