Job summary

Well-Spring in Greensboro, NC is seeking a part-time Cook to join our Dining Services team. This role involves cooking from scratch for residents, following menus and dietary guidelines, and delivering high-quality meals with a warm, resident-focused approach.

Hours are 20–29 per week with morning and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays. Competitive pay between $18.00 and $21.00 per hour, based on experience, and a supportive team in a Life Plan Community.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional restaurant cooking experience required.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare dining, or preparing specialized/therapeutic diets preferred.
• Knowledge of scratch cooking and basic culinary techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals from scratch, including soups, sauces, meats, seafood, vegetables, and daily specials.
• Follow established menus, recipes, and resident dietary needs.
• Prepare meals that meet specialized or therapeutic diet requirements as needed.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, proper portions, and presentation.
• Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
• Work collaboratively with the Dining Services team to provide timely and exceptional service.
• Assist with special events, holiday meals, and other dining needs throughout the year.
