Under the Operations Director, you will assist with laundry, room cleaning, and kitchen duties as needed, while ensuring safety, sanitation, and timely service. A Food Handlers certification is required or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handlers certification within 30 days of hire.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs as part of duties.
• Willingness to train in areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathrooms, bedrooms, common areas and staff spaces to keep facility tidy.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for shelter clients when assigned to kitchen.
• Wash, dry, fold, and store linens and maintain kitchen inventory.
• Keep kitchen, pantry and walk-in refrigerator organized and inspection-ready.
• Assist with laundry, room cleaning, and other housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with Operations staff and report to the Operations Director.

Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Part Time Cook/Housekeeping Specialist will work a split schedule as needed. The responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the facility and preparing meals for clients in the Noah Project shelter. Cleaning duties include laundry, cleaning bedrooms, common areas, bathrooms, and any other necessary areas. Kitchen duties include preparing, and serving nutritious meals to shelter clients. The staff member will be assigned to kitchen and housekeeping may vary as staffing needs vary.

Salary: $14 hourly

Essential Job Functions

• Clean staff bathrooms, including empty trash.
• Sweep, mop, and dust common areas.
• Clean rooms vacated by clients who have exited. (This will include a thorough deep cleaning)
• Wash, dry, fold, and put away all dirty linens, towels, etc.
• Maintain order in kitchen and pantry by keeping food items stocked.
• Clean windows and glass doors.
• Clean and restock hall closets
• Ensuring the administrative office and shelter is neat and clean in appearance
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to shelter clients, when assigned to the kitchen
• Clean the kitchen after meals, including emptying the trash in the kitchen
• Put all kitchen linens in the staff laundry area and start loads as appropriate.
• Keep kitchen, pantry, and walk-in refrigerator neat, organized, and inspection-ready
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Operations staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Director and /or Executive Director
• Ability to provide their own transportation to and from work and report on time for scheduled shifts
• Capacity to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have current Food Handlers certification or be willing to obtain it within 30 days of the hire date
• Willingness to train in areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking including trauma-informed care.
