Job summary

Alger Heights Senior Living Facility in Grand Rapids seeks a part-time Cook to prepare meals for residents using standardized recipes. You will assist with menu planning, manage inventory, and support kitchen operations with a focus on food safety and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has experience cooking in larger quantities (20+ meals), is dependable, and willing to learn in a compassionate, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing meals using standardized recipes.
• Experience with menu planning and ordering.
• Experience cooking large quantities (20+ servings) preferred.
• Must be dependable, capable of following directions, and detail oriented.
• Food safety standards and organizational skills are required.

Part-time Position

Duties

• Prep and prepare meals for residents using standardized recipes
• Menu planning experience
• Must have experience cooking entire meals in larger quantities (20+ meals) and serve safe certified preferred, but not required.
• Assist in clean up
• The ability to manage inventory
• Must be dependable & reliable. Ability to follow directions. Good problem-solving skills required. Attention to detail and food safety standards. Strong organizational skills
• Looking for someone who is caring, compassionate and willing to learn
