Essential Job Functions

• Follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Complete daily production worksheets and waste logs.
• Taste meals to ensure quality.
• Monitor food temperatures during preparation and service.
• Inspect food products and supplies upon delivery.
• Supervise storage of supplies and food.
• Report needs and equipment issues to the Director of Culinary.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of cooking experience, including batch cooking or family-style restaurants.
• Preferably 1 year of food service experience in healthcare dietary setting.
• Knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioning.
• Ability to follow recipes, diet orders, and work flexibly.
• Patience and tolerance towards staff, residents, and families.

Education

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional education in quantity cooking or therapeutic diets is a plus.

Physical Demands
