Job summary

MaziCTools is seeking a Part-Time Construction Trades Instructor to develop and deliver hands-on, inquiry-based programs for charter high school students in Los Angeles. Position Summary

As a Construction Trades Instructor, you will develop and deliver hands-on, inquiry-based programs for charter high school students. You will lead teens in work readiness programs in construction, construction-based social enterprises, OSHA, NCCER certification and related green careers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Program instruction

Instruct groups of 10 to 20 teens during school . Work both independently and with youth to lead construction curriculum and performance tasks including framing, drywall, painting, flooring, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, site preparation/maintenance, project management, safety management and related entrepreneurship.

Program planning and preparation

Develop and implement curricula and program activities . Prepare and submit required program outline documents. Participate in professional development opportunities related to youth development, construction, and other related topics. Assist in recruiting and onboarding program participants. Communicate as needed with program participants and their families/caregivers.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two years related professional experience working with youth in a construction setting required.
• Experience leading conservation and stewardship activities with school-aged youth and teens preferred.
• Knowledge of local construction industry, occupational outlook and empoyment competencies
• Significant experience growing food in an urban environment preferred.
