Job summary

Anderson University’s College of Engineering invites applications for a part-time faculty position in Construction Management to support the launch of a new B.S. in Construction Management program beginning Fall 2027.

The part-time faculty member will teach foundational first- and second-year courses that introduce students to the construction industry, technical construction concepts, field practices, materials, documentation, and project delivery processes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Industrial Technology, or a closely related field.
• Significant professional experience in the construction industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas: construction management, construction materials, surveying/site layout, temporary structures, construction documents, building systems, field operations, or construction methods.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to teaching undergraduate students in an applied, professionally oriented program.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate Construction Management courses in accordance with program outcomes and course objectives.
• Develop or adapt course syllabi, assignments, lectures, labs, field-based activities, and assessments.
• Provide practical, industry-informed instruction that connects classroom learning to real-world construction practice.
• Use instructional technologies, learning management systems, construction drawings, specifications, field examples, and industry tools.
• Evaluate student learning through exams, projects, technical assignments, presentations, and applied activities.
• Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback on student work.
• Coordinate the Dean to ensure course alignment within the curriculum.
• Support a professional, ethical, safety-conscious, and student-centered learning environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Construction Management curriculum during the program launch period.
