Job summary

Skilled US is seeking a part‑time Construction Instructor (Civil + Commercial) to mentor students through hands‑on training in Civil and Commercial construction, aligning curriculum with Indiana standards and credential pathways.

You will supervise lab/shop activities, track certifications, and collaborate with industry partners to provide real-world job readiness and pathways to employment or apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana Workplace Specialist License or eligibility based on 3–5 years construction industry experience (Skilled US will assist in getting one)
• Strong working knowledge of civil and commercial construction
• Ability to teach and supervise students in hands‑on training settings
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a construction training curriculum aligned with Indiana standards and credential requirements
• Provide hands‑on instruction in civil and commercial construction with safety and technical competencies
• Deliver instruction with real‑world applications in civil and commercial construction
• Supervise students in lab/shop and at construction sites with safety and tool-use oversight
• Maintain and track student credential records and progress
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment with apprenticeship and employment pathways
• Represent Skilled US Adult Education and YouthBuild programming professionally
