Job summary

NOVA seeks adjunct faculty to teach ASL and INT courses in the DMV area. Faculty may teach face-to-face, remote, or online formats and carry up to 12 credits in fall/spring or up to 8 in summer. Employment is contingent on enrollment and staffing; no guaranteed continued employment.

Must reside in the DMV area and maintain current competence in the discipline, including experience with instructional technology and diverse learners. Teaching load varies with schedule.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in ASL.
• Ability to teach ASL and INT classes.
• Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in teaching field.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to NOVA and VCCS policies and regulations.
• Maintain current competence in the discipline.
