Job summary

The City of Winfield is seeking a Part Time Compost Facility Worker to support the Sanitation Department. Under the guidance of the Sanitation Superintendent, you will operate heavy equipment, establish compost piles, and ensure facility rules are followed by the public.

The role requires weekend work and a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and maintaining the facility’s appearance. Prior equipment experience is valued, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Heavy equipment experience and/or tractor safety training preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Open and close a compost facility under the supervision of the Sanitation Superintendent.
• Operate heavy equipment, including tractor with end loader attachment.
• Establish and rotate compost piles and perform routine equipment checks.
• Interact with the public and promote a positive image of the City of Winfield.
