Job summary

Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking a part-time Volleyball Coach in Portland, OR to support competitive volleyball programming. You will collaborate with the Volleyball Lead Coach and assistants to deliver high-quality training and a positive athlete experience.

This role focuses on teaching skills and game strategy while fostering sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and cooperation. Local travel to tournaments may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of volleyball playing experience (school, club, collegiate, intramural, or adult league).
• Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and scheduling platforms.
• Ability to work effectively in a service-oriented, member-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assist with team practices and set individual and team performance goals.
• Teach and reinforce volleyball skills, game strategy, and rules with the coaching team.
• Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Support competitive play by assisting with tournaments and match-day coaching.
• Communicate with athletes and families using scheduling tools; respond to questions promptly.
• Occasionally instruct clinics, group lessons, and private lessons.
• Attend program meetings and participate in team activities.
• Represent MAC positively in all communications and events.
• Stay current on volleyball rules and best practices; comply with safety policies and certifications.
