Job summary

All Souls Mortuary in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant. This non-exempt, part-time position supports families during their time of need and coordinates with mortuary staff and parish priests to ensure compassionate service.

The role includes setup for viewings and services, assisting families, driving duties in funeral processions, and handling memorial materials with attention to Catholic customs and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and assist with viewings, funeral services, memorial services, etc.
• Direct calls to appropriate team members.
• Greets and receives families and/or other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
• Attends interment services of client families and expresses concern for the family.
• Maintains a friendly attitude while offering assistance and guidance to all persons entering the location.
• Assists passengers in and out of limousine with emphasis on handicapped and elderly.
• Drives the hearse, family limousine or other vehicle in the funeral cortege.
• Prepare and coordinate memorial materials.
