Job summary

Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission seeks an Outreach Assistant to help connect and inspire communities across Prince George’s County. This seasonal, part-time role involves engaging the public, promoting wellness programs, and supporting health activities at parks and community centers.

You’ll work outdoors, weekends/evenings as needed, and help document events with photos or quick social clips. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; minimum age 18.

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and a friendly, energetic personality.
• Interest in health, fitness, or community engagement.
• Ability to work outdoors and on your feet for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule.
• Social media experience or content creation is a plus.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Minimum age 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Get Fit Mobile unit at parks, events, playgrounds, and community centers.
• Promote upcoming wellness programs, distribute flyers, and engage with the public.
• Assist with setting up and supporting health education and fitness activities.
• Capture attendance and participant feedback during outreach visits.
• Maintain positive relationships with community members, camp staff, and program participants.
• Help document events through photos, video, and short social media clips (optional but encouraged).
