Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission is seeking a reliable Driver to operate the Get Fit Mobile unit, bringing fitness programs, wellness education, and fun to Prince George's County parks and events across the area. This is a seasonal, part-time role with variable hours and some evenings, weekends and holidays required.

You will safely drive the vehicle, assist with equipment setup, maintain the mobile unit, and collaborate with the health and wellness team to ensure smooth

Qualifications

• Possession of a current/valid Driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience driving large vehicles preferred (semi-trucks, trailers, or similar).
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds and assist with equipment setup.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate the Get Fit Mobile vehicle to various scheduled locations.
• Load, unload, and assist with setting up fitness equipment and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the mobile unit.
• Collaborate with the health & wellness team to ensure smooth program execution.
• Greet participants with a positive attitude and represent the department professionally.
• Report mileage, maintenance needs, and incidents as required.

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiasticDriver to operate our Get Fit Mobile unit. A wellness-on-wheels initiative that brings fitness programs, wellness education, and fun to local parks, playgrounds, and community events across Prince George’s County. The position is part-time, with varying hours a week, with some evenings, weekends and holidays required.

• Experience driving, Semi-Trucks, trailers, or other large vehicles preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through phone, text, and email.
• Comfortable driving a large van or box truck-style vehicle.

• Ability to lift 30+ pounds and assist with equipment setup.
• Punctual, dependable, and proactive.
• Experience working with community or recreation programs is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.

This is a Seasonal/part-time position; no benefits are offered.

Must successfully pass a complete background investigation prior to hire.
