Job summary

Barber National Institute in Erie, PA is seeking a Community Support Professional for a part-time, first-shift position in our Licensed Day Program. You will provide direct support to adults with disabilities, help with daily living skills, and assist with activities in a structured setting.

The role requires patience, good communication, teamwork, and the ability to meet physical demands. Pre-hire clearances and CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid, active driver's license required with good driving history.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including assisting with mobility and being on your feet for extended periods.
• Pre-hire Clearances: State Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance (if you haven't lived in PA for 2 years).
• Ability to pass Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily needs, including personal hygiene and medication management.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Lead structured activities such as arts and crafts, music, and skill-building exercises.
• Document progress and collaborate with team members using CareLogic.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment within the facility.
