Job summary

Exceptional Children’s Foundation in Los Angeles County seeks a part-time Community Integration Specialist to support adults with developmental disabilities by integrating them into community activities and enhancing their quality of life.

The role provides direct supervision, training, and evaluation within diverse community settings. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience, with strong communication and compassion.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year working with individuals with special needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Teach skills from IPP including self-help, communication, motor and vocational areas.
• Supervise participants during arrivals, departures, and lunchtime.
• Provide behavioral interventions per training and goals.
• Assist with personal hygiene and health incidents as needed.
• Transport participants to activities using public transport or van.
• Serve as job coach in paid or volunteer placements.
• Maintain vehicle logs and equipment usage.
• Document monthly and quarterly evaluations and notes.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings.
