Job summary

Madera Community College Center invites applications for a Part-Time Communication Studies Instructor in the district's faculty pool. Instruction may occur in the evening, on weekends, online, or on‑campus as needed.

The ideal candidate will teach introductory public speaking, interpersonal communication, argumentation, persuasion, and other courses, using varied pedagogies and technology to reach diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Master's in the specified fields
• Bachelor's in any of the above with master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English
• Valid California Community College Credential
• Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency)

Responsibilities

• Teaching introductory public speaking, interpersonal communications, argumentation, persuasion, group communication and other courses offered by the department
• Using a variety of pedagogies and instructional delivery systems including technology for face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats
• Communicating effectively with students and maintaining course syllabi and records
• Fulfilling duties and responsibilities of instructors per Administrative Regulation 7122
• Evaluating student progress through tests, assignments, and examinations

Education

Master's in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication

Bachelor's in any of the above AND master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English
