Job summary

Foreside Community Church (FCC) seeks a detail-oriented part-time Communications and Community Manager to tell the story of our ministry and life within the congregation and the wider community. The role also manages the building as a resource for ministry and supports volunteers and leaders.

Reporting to the Pastor, you will work with ministry leaders and the public, including building renters, to maintain schedules, communications, and a welcoming office environment.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to shape content and voice for different audiences
• Proficiency with Canva, InDesign, WordPress, and Microsoft Office
• Comfort with creating content for social media in an organizational voice
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
• Comfort working respectfully within a diverse, welcoming faith community

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a communications calendar to share events through social media and other channels
• Design, edit, and publish the worship bulletin for each Sunday
• Compile and distribute announcements and schedules via newsletters
• Maintain the church website (WordPress) and online calendar
• Gather content (photos, testimonies) to create narratives of the congregation’s impact
• Keep and maintain a calendar of all building functions
• Serve as contact for tenants and renters using policies, fees, and insurance documents
• Coordinate maintenance needs and liaise with cleaners and contractors
• Be welcoming in person, on calls, and via email; manage files and reports
• Maintain membership records and mailing lists
• Purchase and maintain office supplies
