JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Are you passionate about using your clinical skills to educate the next generation of speech-language pathologists? Penn State Harrisburg's Communication Sciences and Disorders Program will have part-time openings for dynamic, team-oriented individuals to teach, supervise, and/or participate in community engagement as part of our existing undergraduate and planned master's degree program in Speech-Language Pathology, set to launch in Fall 2026.Part-time instructors typically teach/supervise one course each semester and those involved with community engagement events will be paid salary. Applications will be received on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed as needs arise. Job Duties
  • Teach undergraduate or graduate didactic courses in a variety of areas.
  • Participate in community engagement.
  • Supervise undergraduate or graduate students in clinical settings.
  • Manage electronic medical records.
  • Teach documentation skills.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and other relevant regulations.
Requirements and QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; CCC-SLP.
  • Eligibility for Pennsylvania State licensure in speech-language pathology.
  • At least five years of clinical experience with a variety of speech-language disorders.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, staff, and students.
  • Experience supervising multiple areas of clinical speech-language practice with a preference for those experienced in clinical supervision of students.
  • Experience with pediatric populations is required but adult experience is also desirable.
  • Continuing education in supervision as required by ASHA or the ability to obtain such CE units prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, develop programming, learn new skills, and lead others.
  • Experience working with all age groups, from pediatrics to adults, and in various areas.
  • Advanced interest in supervision principles, including training and continuing education.
  • Experience supervising externs, assistants, or paraprofessionals.
