Part Time - Communication Sciences and Disorders - Adjunct Lecturer

Join our team at Penn State Harrisburg as a Part-Time Adjunct Lecturer in Communication Sciences and Disorders. This role involves teaching, supervising, and engaging with the community as part of our undergraduate and upcoming master’s degree programs in Speech-Language Pathology, launching in Fall 2026. Typically, part-time instructors teach one course per semester, with additional compensation for community engagement activities. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis based on need. Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate or graduate courses in various areas of communication sciences and disorders.
  • Participate in community engagement initiatives.
  • Supervise students in clinical settings.
  • Manage electronic medical records and teach documentation skills.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and other regulations.
Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and CCC-SLP.
  • Eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure in speech-language pathology.
  • At least five years of clinical experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising clinical practice, with pediatric experience preferred.
  • Continuing education in supervision or willingness to obtain CE units prior to employment.

Preferred:

  • University teaching experience.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and lead initiatives.
  • Experience with diverse age groups and supervision of externs or paraprofessionals.
