The DeKalb County School District is seeking a part-time Senior Advisor Liaison to guide students through college admissions, military, and job-search processes, including meeting exam requirements and completing applications.

The role provides mentoring, college prep experiences, and advisory events; the incumbent will maintain records, use Naviance and SIS, educate families about colleges and finances, and support juniors and seniors and their families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an education field or related field is required.
• Minimum of two years experience in a K-12 public school or higher education environment is required.
• Experience advising students on post-secondary options including college, workforce, and military is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with long-term academic goals and career plans.
• Maintains advising records and confidential student evaluations.
• Uses Naviance and SIS to support advising services.
• Educates students and families about workforce, colleges, and testing.
• Advises caseloads of juniors and seniors and their families.
• Meets with students and families to discuss post-secondary options.
• Contacts colleges and provides students with information about options.
• Tracks key student performance indicators and reports bi-weekly.
• Maintains external relationships to bring services and opportunities.
