Job summary

iCode Southlake is seeking a part-time coding instructor to teach coding, robotics, and cybersecurity concepts to students aged 5–18. You’ll mentor and guide learners, break down complex ideas, and track progress while communicating with parents.

Ideal candidates are CS/ STEM students with strong communication skills, experience in game development (Roblox Studio or Unity), and a passion for hands-on teaching during weekday afternoons and weekends.

Qualifications

  • CS student or STEM student with interest in teaching.
  • Experience with game development, cybersecurity fundamentals, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Strong communicator capable of explaining technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Teach coding, computer science, and STEM classes to students (ages 5–18).
  • Help students with game development, robotics, and problem-solving.
  • Break down technical concepts into simple steps.

Required / Preferred Skills (Computer Science Focus)
We are hiring candidates with experience in:

  • Cybersecurity fundamentals (networking, security basics)
  • Debugging, problem-solving, and logical thinking
Preferred:
  • Experience with Agile development or project-based work
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching children as young as 5 years old
  • Personal or academic projects (GitHub, apps, games, etc.)
Ideal Candidate (CS Student / STEM Instructor)
  • High School Junior/Senior or College student pursuing: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related field
  • Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly
  • Dependable, professional, and comfortable working with students
  • Available for weekday (both during day and after-school) and/or weekend hours
