Job summary

Resource Environmental Solutions LLC is seeking a part-time Scientist I/Boat Captain to operate and maintain vessels for coastal and inland field projects across Florida. The role requires a licensed captain, hands-on vessel handling, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities include transporting vessels, coordinating with field staff, and supporting SCUBA-based field activities.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience operating vessels in coastal and inland waterways.
SCUBA certification and current CPR/First Aid certification.
Valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license is preferred.
Proficiency in GPS, navigation systems, and chartplotter use.
Ability to trailer and transport vessels with non-CDL truck and trailer combinations.
Flexible with Florida travel and field schedules.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain vessels in coastal and inland waterways.
Safely trailer and transport vessels to project sites.
Ensure compliance with Coast Guard, state, and company safety standards.
Coordinate vessel operations with field staff and support project implementation.
Support field activities including AAUS safety protocols.
Maintain vessel logs and required documentation.
Adapt to seasonal field schedules and travel within Florida.
