Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking a part-time Training and Engagement Assistant for the Department of Marine Outreach in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The role supports training and engagement programs to equip coastal professionals and communities with science-based resources and decision-support tools.

Responsibilities include helping with workshops, content development, and outreach activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in professional or community-based outreach, education, or coastal management.
Valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Ability to work in a small team setting and with diverse groups.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

Assists with program implementation to equip coastal professionals, decision-makers, and communities with science-based resources and training.
Assists with coastal training and engagement programs including on/off-site workshops, conferences, field visits, and event management of registrations.
Assists with science communication initiatives such as website content, social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and marketing materials.
