Job summary

The Louisiana Veterans Home in Jackson, LA, is seeking a Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant 1 to provide compassionate patient care within a leadership-oriented role in the Nursing Department.

Responsibilities include assisting with admissions, providing daily care, sterilizing equipment, and recording vital signs. Schedule features alternating shifts; appointment type is WAE / Part Time, not to exceed 1,245 hours per year.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience or training in patient care.
• Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
• Completion of an accredited RN, PN, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with documenting the admission of new patients into the medical record.
• Provide care to patients such as ambulating, feeding, bathing, positioning, and lifting.
• Sterilize equipment and supplies.
• Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight; records in the patient's medical record.

Skills

Six months of patient care experience

Education

Certified Nursing Assistant certificate

Completion of RN/PN/MA/EMT program
