Job summary

Actalent is seeking a part-time Clinical Research Coordinator in Birmingham, AL. This role supports a clinical trial, identifying and enrolling eligible participants, educating them about the study, and maintaining engagement and compliance throughout the trial.

The position requires 1+ year of clinical research and EMR experience, plus HIPAA and GCP training. It is onsite with typical business hours and a pay range of $25.00–$33.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
• 1+ year of patient recruitment for clinical trials.
• 1+ year of EMR experience.
• Formal HIPAA training.
• Formal GCP training.
• Strong organizational skills with multiple participants and tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for participant education and staff collaboration.
• Ability to apply protocol-defined eligibility criteria during chart reviews and pre-screening.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Review EMR to assess potential participants against protocol-defined criteria.
• Pre-screen potential participants for eligibility.
• Recruit and enroll participants into the clinical trial.
• Educate participants about procedures, risks, benefits, and follow-up.
• Maintain ongoing communication to support retention and compliance.
• Schedule in-person visits and reminders for participants.
• Document chart reviews and interactions in EMR and study records.
• Ensure recruitment and chart reviews align with GCP and privacy regs.
• Collaborate with research staff to address participant-related issues.
• Maintain attention to detail in data entry and documentation.
