Job summary

Protouch Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist to join as a Clinical Research Physician in Chicago, IL. This part-time role supports Phase I-IV trials, ensuring protocol compliance and patient safety while collaborating with sponsors, CROs, and research teams.

The ideal candidate holds an MD/DO with Illinois license, DEA, and BLS/ACLS, plus clinical research experience and proficiency with EHR/EDC/CTMS.

Qualifications

MD/DO with active, unrestricted Illinois medical license.
Board Certification in Cardiology.
DEA license and BLS/ACLS certification.
Clinical research/clinical trials experience preferred (training available).
Proficiency in EHR systems, medical documentation, and clinical trial platforms (EDC, CTMS).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Strong commitment to ethical research and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or Sub-I for clinical trials.
Conduct medical screenings, physical exams, and assessments of study participants.
Provide clinical oversight and ensure adherence to protocols, ICH-GCP, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with coordinators, nurses, and research staff to maintain compliance and documentation.
Record patient interactions, manage adverse events (AEs/SAEs), and maintain EHR/EDC compliance.
Build relationships with sponsors, CROs, monitors, and IRBs.
Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and investigator meetings.
Contribute to feasibility reviews, study design, and recruitment strategies.
Stay current with clinical research regulations and therapeutic advances.
