Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants, LLC is seeking a part-time Clinical Registered Dietitian to provide quarterly on-site visits to facilities in the Lancaster, CA area. The role offers flexible scheduling and a competitive hourly rate of $45.00-$50.00 per hour, with travel reimbursement.

Responsibilities include nutritional assessments, care plan development, education and counseling, and periodic menu reviews to align with USDA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field from an accredited program.
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience (preferred).
• Experience with reviewing menus for facilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Possesses the ability to apply critical thinking to various situations, assess objectives, develop and implement and monitor improvement plans.
• Proficiency in providing general nutrition guidance and familiarity with state survey processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter, with more frequent reviews as needed for high-risk residents.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care services and resident outcomes.
• Review and approve menu on a semi-annual basis to ensure it meets USDA guidelines.
• Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Perform other tasks as assigned and within scope of practice as needed.
• Adheres to all facility policy and procedure.
