Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty for our BSN program in Arlington, VA. You will mentor students in inpatient clinical settings in Fredericksburg, VA, linking classroom learning with real-world patient care. This role helps ensure students are well-prepared and confident in providing high-quality care.

Scheduling:

  • Schedule depends on course needs and clinical specialty for each 8-week session.
  • Typically, clinical instructors work 3-4 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1-2 weeks per session.
  • Additional dates may not be available; clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session.

No prior teaching experience is required. Nurses with solid clinical experience and an MSN are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the college’s philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned teaching loads autonomously.
  • Plan and supervise clinical experiences, evaluating nursing students' performance.
  • Be available to agency staff and students for support and remediation.
  • Stay informed of agency policies and develop clinical assignments suited to students’ knowledge and skills.
  • Provide timely feedback on student work and participate in program development.
  • May teach didactic content under supervision.
  • Communicate student and agency issues to course coordinators.
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction.
  • Participate in assessment, retention, and policy initiatives.
  • Model professionalism and uphold regulatory standards.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean, with oversight from a course coordinator.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and adhere to all policies.

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered RN license in Virginia; Illinois RN license required for teaching all courses (priority given to Illinois-licensed instructors).
  • Active BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or Military).
  • Minimum two years of recent professional nursing experience in instruction or clinical practice.

Salary range: $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment. Our team is happy to discuss salary requirements and answer questions.
