Job summary

Arkansas State University-Beebe seeks a qualified part-time instructor to teach Clinical Microbiology within the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Program. The instructor will deliver course content and supervise laboratory instruction focused on microbial techniques used in clinical laboratories.

Instruction will cover microbial taxonomy, specimen handling, cultivation, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
• Current certification as MLT, MLS (ASCP), or equivalent national certification.
• At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience as an MLT/MLT tech.
• Prior teaching or instructional experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and update course materials including syllabi, lectures, and lab exercises for Clinical Microbiology.
• Instruct and supervise MLT students in proper microbiological techniques during labs.
• Assess student learning through exams, quizzes, practicals, and assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and grades.
• Provide timely feedback to support student learning and professional growth.
• Ensure all lab activities follow biosafety guidelines and good laboratory practices.
• Communicate with the MLT Program Director regarding student performance and course updates.
• Align course delivery with NAACLS standards and institutional guidelines.
