Job summary

Arkansas State University–Beebe is seeking a qualified part-time instructor to teach Clinical Microbiology within the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Program. The instructor will deliver course content and supervise laboratory instruction focusing on microbial taxonomy, specimen handling, cultivation, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.

The position involves both didactic and hands-on lab teaching, adherence to NAACLS standards and biosafety protocols, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree in MLT and current MLT/MLS certification.
• At least 2 years of clinical MLT experience.
• Prior teaching or instructional experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and update course materials, including syllabi, lectures, and lab exercises focused on Clinical Microbiology.
• Instruct and supervise MLT students in proper microbiological techniques during lab sessions.
• Assess student learning through exams, quizzes, practicals, and assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and grades.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and professional growth.
• Align course delivery with institutional, programmatic, and NAACLS standards.
