Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division is seeking a Laboratory Technician to manage and maintain quality of laboratory services in compliance with CLIA guidelines. The role collaborates with physicians, clinic staff and leadership to ensure safe, accurate testing and reporting of results.

Responsibilities include performing high-complexity tests as authorized, developing QA programs, training staff, and ensuring corrective actions are completed before reporting results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in laboratory services.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Immunology experience or ELISA experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient testing on automated platforms and verify procedures.
• Establish Quality Assurance programs and oversee analytic performance.
• Ensure reporting only after corrective actions and system validation.
• Train staff and monitor proficiency testing results.
• Maintain records of testing, quality control and corrective actions.
