Job summary

Springfield Platteview Community Schools in Nebraska is seeking a Classroom Paraprofessional to support teachers with lesson prep and in-class activities, assist with behavior management, and help prepare materials before classes.

You will work roughly 177 days per year, up to 29 hours per week, report to the Building Principal, and play a key role in modeling positive student relations and providing targeted support to students needing extra help, including special education tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work closely with children.
• Excellent teamwork and patience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teachers in classroom activities.
• Work with students inside or outside of the class as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students in school-related activities.
• Possess the ability to work closely with children.
• Must possess excellent teamwork skills and the ability to remain calm and patient at all times.
• Serve as a guide in instructing students on proper classroom behavior.
• Get materials and equipment ready to help teachers prepare for class and help keep records for grading and attendance.
• Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students.
• Assist students who need additional help learning a specific concept.
• Perform personal care and hygiene tasks for special education students. Implementing certain educational support services for special education students, as directed by the teacher.
• All other duties as assigned.
