Job summary

Lincoln Academy is seeking an Entry Level Teacher Assistant for part-time hours. You will support lead teachers in creating a positive learning environment and assist with instruction, supervision, and materials preparation.

Responsibilities include working with small groups or individuals, grading support, and helping maintain safety and classroom order. This role emphasizes collaboration, adaptability, and commitment to student progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom.
• Familiarity with instructional technology desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lead teachers to assist in classroom management and maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom instruction (substituting when necessary), lunch and carpool supervision, and recess supervision.
• Provide instructional support by working with small groups or individual students to reinforce concepts.
• Aid in preparing instructional materials, worksheets, handouts, and visual aids.
• Assist in grading assignments and maintaining accurate progress records.
• Organize and maintain classroom resources, materials and equipment.
• Support students with special needs by implementing IEPs/504 plans and providing personalized assistance.
• Be engaged in the learning process from roughly 8:00-2:30 each day.
• Maintain open communication with students and colleagues.
• Monitor students during non-instructional periods to ensure safety and well-being.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by lead teachers or administration.
