Job summary

Provo City in Utah is seeking a part-time Assistant City Attorney to serve as legal counsel with civil and criminal duties. This role requires a JD from an accredited law school, a valid driver's license, and active Utah State Bar membership to practice before state courts.

You will review civil cases, prosecute misdemeanors, draft pleadings and memoranda, and represent the City in court. The hours are up to 25 per week, with some evening work, and compensation ranges from $46.65 to $69.25 per

Responsibilities

• Review assigned civil action cases or probable cause; prosecute misdemeanors and infractions.
• Review complaints, police reports, and subpoenas; draft and file legal documents and pleadings.
• Represent the City in court and hearings; coordinate with law enforcement and other staff.
• Assist in more complex civil or criminal work and processing collections; perform related duties.
