Job summary

Berkeley Heights Public Library is seeking energetic part-time Circulation Assistants for the Berkeley Heights location. You will assist patrons, handle check-in/out, holds, and basic account tasks at the circulation desk.

Qualifications include strong computer skills (Google Suite, MS Office, Koha ILS), reliable attendance, and a friendly, inclusive approach. Weekend/evening availability is preferred. Pay starts at $20.43 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with inquiries and locating materials.
• Perform circulation tasks: check-in, check-out, renewals, cards, accounts.
• Prepare holds and transfers; manage interlibrary loan materials.
• Resolve basic account issues (fines, fees).
• Provide basic troubleshooting for library computers and copiers.
• Shelve, shelf-read, and organize materials; open/close procedures.
• Assist with program prep and promote library services.
• Answer phones professionally and support reception duties.
• Maintain welcoming, inclusive environment and teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
