Job summary

Medina County District Library in Brunswick seeks a part-time Library Associate in the Children's Department to provide direct services to children from birth to grade 5. Responsibilities include reference, reader's advisory, and program planning; storytimes; outreach to daycares; events; and collection maintenance.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and public service experience preferred; strong customer service and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and one year of public service preferred; equivalent education considered.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to plan and present programs for children; work with book knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference, reader's advisory and request processing.
• Plan and present programs for children and provide storytimes.
• Outreach to daycares and preschools; attend school/community events.
• Assist in collection maintenance; update files and indexes; other duties.
