Job summary

The Town of Foxborough is seeking a part-time, non-benefitted Library Assistant for the Boyden Library’s Children’s Department. You will handle direct customer service at the Children’s desk and support programming and technical services.

Responsibilities include circulation tasks, reference assistance, and assisting with story times and staff training. The position requires a high school diploma and familiarity with library systems; evening and Sunday hours are included seasonally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Public or school library experience preferred
• Knowledge of Children’s materials desirable
• Experience with library automation systems and PCs preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct customer service at the Children’s desk.
• Perform circulation duties: check in/out, holds, fines.
• Assist with children’s materials processing and repairs.
• Support staff and volunteer training.
• Lead ongoing story times and children’s programs.
• Collaborate to improve department practices.
