Part Time Children’s Librarian or Library Associate – Parsippany Library

Job Vacancy: Part Time Children’s Librarian or Library Associate

Summary: The Parsippany Library is seeking a Part Time Children’s Librarian or Library
Associate to join the dedicated team of professionals in the Children’s Department at our Main
Library. Responsibilities include providing customer service, reference and online reader’s
advisory, development and implementation of creative and innovative children’s programming,
and attending community and local school outreach.

About the Library: The Parsippany Library serves a population of 56,000 with a Main Library
and two branches. Located in Morris County, NJ, Parsippany is a vibrant and diverse
community which has often been recognized as one of the best places to live in the U.S.

Title: Children’s Librarian (NJ Civil Service Title: Librarian 1) or Library Associate

Location: Main Library 449 Halsey Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054

Department: Children’s

Supervisor: Head of Children’s Services

Compensation: $25/hour for Librarians; $20/hour for Library Associates, and includes paid
sick, vacation, and holidays, and enrollment in the Defined Contribution Retirement Program
(DCRP) if eligible.

Schedule: Mondays: 1-5pm, Tuesdays: 1-5pm, Thursdays: 1-9pm, Fridays: 1-5pm, alternating
Saturdays: 9-5pm.
