Chelmsford Public Schools seeks a part-time CommEd Childcare Program Substitute for the 2026/2027 school year. The substitute assists with a variety of instructional and support duties in the Community Education Center, with day lengths varying from 6:45am to 6:00pm.

Starting date is immediate and duties include supervising children and communicating with families. The position requires at least 18 years old, willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR within six months, and flexibility across multiple

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be willing to become First Aid and CPR certified within first six months of employment.
• Have a positive attitude when working with parents, staff and children.
• Must possess and utilize excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of records on students.
• Assist in implementing activities for the CommEd childcare program.
• Assist in meeting students' individualized needs by adapting behavior management expectations and plans.
• Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students.
• Supervise and interact with students.
• Communicate with parents, sharing positive highlights as well as any concerns regarding their child as needed.
• Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.
