Job summary

Right At School is hiring an Educator to work directly with kids at participating schools. You will lead activities, ensure a safe and structured environment, and build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

Gain real-world experience in education and child development while contributing to a supportive school community. This on-site role offers morning and afternoon shifts and potential for additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel during shifts.
• Reliable and punctual with a consistent part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at session start and take attendance.
• Plan and lead daily activities and enrichment lessons for the age group.
• Support homework time and assist with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions to ensure safety.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off about their child’s day.
• Log incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the Program Manager.

As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids

Pay Rate:

$17.50-19 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours

• Before School: 6:15am-8:30am
• After School: 3:15-6pm Mon-Fri

What You'll Do

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick‑up and drop‑off regarding their child's day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Washington State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
