Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Children's Center Associate Teacher for afternoon coverage.

The role supports classroom teachers and helps create a warm, caring environment for young children from mid August to mid June, with hours 12:30pm–5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include supervising activities, aiding in classroom maintenance, and upholding confidentiality and safety standards while collaborating with the Director and teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of nine credits in early childhood education/development, twelve credits preferred, including at least one three-credit course in child growth and development.
• CPR and First Aid training or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Models, articulates, and encourages cooperative behavior among the children.
• Interacts with children in a warm, nurturing way while providing an appropriate adult role model.
• Supports the teaching team and the childcare center activities in a timely, caring and professional manner.
• Supervises all activities indoors and out to ensure the safety and well-being of each child.
• Resolves problems with children or parents in conjunction with the teachers and Director.
