Job summary

CHILD, Inc. in Warwick, RI is seeking a part-time food service cook to prepare nutritious meals for children and staff in licensed centers.

You will follow RI Department of Health Food Code and CACFP meal patterns, supervise kitchen aides, and ensure safe, sanitary operations. This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a RI DoH Manager in Food Safety and Sanitation certification, ability to lift 40 pounds, and a valid driver's license for center coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• RI Department of Health certification as a Manager in Food Safety and Sanitation required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Rhode Island Department of Health Food Code and maintains safety/sanitation in kitchen.
• Monitors and enforces safety and sanitation rules for staff and volunteers.
• Provides leadership, supervision and ongoing evaluation to cook aides, subs and volunteers.
• Prepares and serves nutritious meals and snacks for children and staff, following CACFP meal patterns.
• Submits orders for food, infant formula, paper supplies, and cleaning supplies.
• Maintains records such as inventories, meal counts, and temperatures.
• Supports integration of nutrition concepts into the daily curriculum.
• Punctuality, reliability and professional conduct in all duties.
