Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking a dedicated Childcare Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for young children in our busy centers. You will follow CACFP guidelines, ensure food safety, and support classrooms when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Valid food handler's permit (or ability to obtain one before starting).
• Experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or food service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage meal timing for multiple classrooms.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and work with heat.
• Genuine care for children's wellbeing and a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children per menus and CACFP guidelines.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures to keep a clean, compliant kitchen.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies for enrolled children.
• Track meal counts, inventory, and supply needs and communicate with center leadership.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Support classroom staff during non-kitchen hours and assist with activities.
