Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Experience working with children.
• Working toward CDA; Associates or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.
• Ability to relate to children, parents, staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction and perform duties as assigned by the Child Care Teacher or Director.
• Implement curriculum within established guidelines.
• Nurture children through purposeful programming building achievement and belonging.
• Provide opportunities to build self-help and independence skills.
• Conduct ongoing observations and developmental assessments.
• Support children in need as needed.
• Engage families and connect them to the YMCA.
• Maintain relationships with staff, parents, volunteers and site administration.
• Ensure safety and adherence to YMCA policies at all times.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Participate in protecting youth and teens from abuse.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
