Job summary

Missoula YMCA is seeking a part-time Early Education Assistant Teacher to support infants to preschoolers in a learning-centered program. You will assist teachers, help organize daily activities, and help implement the curriculum to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment.

The role requires teamwork, dependability, and a positive, caring attitude, with CPR/First Aid on file or obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR and First Aid or obtain within first 30 days of employment (available at the Y).
• Preferred: College coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Psychology.
• Preferred: 1-2 years experience in child care or working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in organizing and leading daily activities for infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children.
• Implement the program curriculum and provide a developmentally appropriate experience.
• Collaborate in a supportive, caring, and safe learning environment for children and families.

Status: non-exempt, Y Job Grade 4

Wage: $16.00 hr to start or doe

Department: Early Childcare Education- Learning Center

Reports to: Childcare Center Director

Probation: Subject to a 12-month introductory (probationary) period

Position Summary

The Greater Missoula Family YMCA is looking for team oriented, dependable, loving and caring people who love to engage and have fun with infants and children up to 5 years old in a quality care learning environment. We are hiring part time Assistant Teachers. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for helping teachers in organizing and leading daily activities of infants, toddlers and pre-kindergarten children. They implement the program curriculum and environment, providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate experience to meet the needs of the children and families in the program. Applicants must be able to thrive in an environment with the unique challenges of a non-profit community service organization and work with limited supervision.

Education/Certification
