Job summary

Westmoreland County Community College is seeking a Chemistry Specialist to provide individualized and small group tutoring in chemistry, help with labs, and support students toward exam success.

The position is regular part-time within the Tutoring & Learning Services department; an associate degree in chemistry or related field is required, and prior tutoring or related work is valued. Hybrid schedule is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or related field required.
• Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards in current and prior positions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sessions to aid students with chemistry concepts and labs.
• Promote problem solving and critical thinking during tutoring.
• Assist students with study skills and progress assessment.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on tutoring activities.
• Coordinate services and refer students to instructors or counselors as needed.
• Prepare practice quizzes and exams for individualized learning.
