Job summary

Kalamazoo Valley Community College is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to support Chemistry labs at the Texas Township Campus. You will help prepare labs, set up equipment, maintain inventory, and ensure a clean, organized workspace in line with SOPs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and be reliable, with preferred coursework in Chemistry (CHM 120/130). Flexible 5-20 hours per week with duties assigned by the Lab Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, must be 18 or older.
• Candidates must be motivated and reliable.
• Post-secondary Chemistry coursework preferred (CHM 120/130).

Responsibilities

• Assist Lab Manager in preparing labs for Chemistry Lab classes.
• Keep labs clean and orderly.
• Set up equipment and supplies per laboratory class SOPs.
• Maintain lab supply inventory.
• Prepare chemicals and mixing solutions.
• Clean equipment, instruments and work surfaces.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
